GERALD HNATISHIN After a courageous battle with cancer, it is with deepest sadness that we announce the passing of our precious husband, father, son, brother and uncle on Wednesday, September 17, 2008 with his family by his side at the Beausejour District Hospital. Dad leaves to mourn his wife of 36 years, Donna; children, Rich, Tracey (Luke Mula) and Andrew; his mother Martha; brothers, David, James (Michele), Mark (Susan); sisters, Mary (Aldo Panciera), Christine (Stan Barta), Karen (Bill Kaye) and his foster brother Walter (Linda Petik); mother-in-law Julie and sisters-in-law, Karen and Evelyn, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his father John and his father-in-law Robert Robinson. He will also be sadly missed by his little friends, Cece, Willie, Skidder, Alfred and his two grand-dogs, Chika and Izzy. Dad was born on August 10, 1951, raised on a farm in Hazelridge, MB and spent his married life in Anola, MB. Dad was a hard worker all his life, working 24 years at CN Rail and the past 11 years at Griffin Canada. He loved to work hard especially when it involved working with his family. Building Anola Petro Canada with his brothers was one of his greatest accomplishments. His love of life, family and dreams inspired those who were fortunate to have known him and for that Dad, you will be so dearly missed. We love you. The family would like to thank Dr. Harris and the Oncology Department at Concordia Hospital and Dr. Campbell and the nurses at the Beausejour District Hospital. Prayers will be said on Sunday, September 21 at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church, Anola, MB. Funeral liturgy will be celebrated also at Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church, Anola, MB on Monday, September 22 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Owen Steeves presiding. Interment will follow at St. Michael's Parish Cemetery, Cooks Creek, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. Dear Donna , Rich, Tracy, and Andrew: Deepest Sympathies to you and your children on the loss of your wonderful husband and caring father, Gerry. We didn't see him often, but his easy-going personality that always gave us a friendly smile and/or warm chuckle, quick joke, and kind words will allways be remembered. We will miss him very much. Sincerely, Noreen, Dayne & Robert, Leyan Freya, & Brad - Posted by: Noreen Grandt (Family) on: Sep 21, 2008
