HEDWIG (HATTIE) REDLICK (nee FITZ) Sadly, on September 16, 2008, Hedwig Redlick passed away at Deer Lodge Centre, at the age of 89 years. Hedwig was predeceased by her husband, Albert David Redlick, parents Martin and Christine Fitz (nee Derwanz), stepbrother Beno Fitz, brother Otto Fitz, sister Edith Salisbury (nee Fitz) and her beloved daughter Christel Pauline Redlick. Hedwig is survived by her two sons; William (Cheryl) Redlick, John (Margaret) Redlick, grandchildren Fraser and Ainsley, grandniece Christy Rawluk, her second cousin Ann Gora as well as many other relatives in Canada, United States, Germany and the Netherlands. Hedwig was born on September 27, 1918 in , West Prussia. At an early age, the family immigrated to Essen-Delwig, Germany where she went to kindergarten and lower classes. In 1931, the family immigrated to Canada and settled on a farm near Antigonish Harbour in Nova Scotia. It was in 1944, when she came to Winnipeg to visit her relatives, that she met Albert. They married on April 8, 1945. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 22, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. with viewing one half hour prior to the service at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street.
