EDNA IRENE COCKBURN Passed away peacefully on Friday, September 19, 2008, at the age of 89 at the Concordia Place. Edna was predeceased by her husband Lawrence Coby Cockburn of Transcona. She is lovingly remembered by her two sons, Hugh (Lynn) of Winnipeg, and Garry (Deb) of Ottawa; granddaughters, Tannis, Sheri, Stacey, Lindsay, and Colleen, and two great-grandchildren, Faith and Noah. She is also survived by three sisters, Evelyn (Vic) of Shoal Lake, Ria of Wellington, and Patty (Bob) of Brooklyn. Edna was the eldest daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Walker of St. Vital. Edna moved to Transcona in 1956, where she took great pride in her home and yard, and enjoyed her family, neighbors, and good friends. Cremation has taken place, and at Edna's request, a memorial gathering will be arranged at a later date. Edna's remains will be interred in the family plot in St. Vital Cemetery with her husband and parents. May the road rise up to meet you, May the wind be always at your back, May the sun shine warm upon your face, And the rains fall soft upon your fields, And, until we meet again, May God hold you in the hollow of His Hand.
