WILFRID CANSDALE 1919 - 2008 Peacefully on Sunday, September 21, 2008 Wilfrid passed away at Gimli Community Health Centre. Wilfrid is predeceased by his first wife Grace and his second wife Rhoda. Left to cherish his memory are his daughters Joy (Fred), June (Bill), four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, three stepdaughters and his sister in-law Hazel Cansdale and family of BC. Dad worked for CNR for 41 years, retiring in 1978. After retirement, Dad spent many years in Matlock in the log cabin he built (Cozy Corner). In the 10 years he was with Rhoda he enjoyed many beautiful trips, such as travelling to Florida. Family was his pride and joy and he valued his trips to the farm. Special thanks to Dr. R.C. Patel for his care, compassion and friendship. Also many thanks to the nursing staff of Gimli Hospital. Dad was able to stay in his home for the last two years with the special care provided by his home care attendants. Special thanks to Debbie Pommer and Carol Gwizdak. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Wilfrid's memory to a charity of one's choice. Graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. CHAPEL LAWN 885-9715
