VENERANDA CAVENTA GRAFIL On Monday, September 22, 2008, Veneranda passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, at Seven Oaks General Hospital in her 92nd year. She was born on November 14, 1915 in La Paz, Tarlac. Mom loved to entertain and very much enjoyed singing. Her voice was golden like an opera singer. She also loved to dance, especially dancing the waltz with Dad. Together, they raised nine children; four boys and five daughters. She was predeceased by her loving husband Alejandro Grafil Sr.; sister Maria Rivera; sons, Alejandro Grafil Jr., Eduardo Grafil and Lino Bong Grafil; daughter Julieta. Veneranda will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her children and their spouses: son Rogelio (Lita) San Francisco, CA; daughters Evangeline (Andy, deceased) Philippines, Josephine (Dan), Siony (George), Marietta (Sam), daughter-in-law Janet of Florida, grandchildren Josie (Vic) of Texas, Gellie (Noel) San Francisco, CA, Leah of Florida, Terence (Rachel) of Calgary, Brian, Oliver, Jay Mabelyn (Patrick), Michelle, Kimberly of Calgary, Timothy, nephew Nash (Virgie), nephew Tony (Mercly) of New York, niece Dading (Joe) of New York, Eria (Abelardo) of New Jersey, grand-nephew and niece; Marvin and Melissa; great-grandchildren Zoey, Shilo of San Francisco, CA. Cedric, Cadence, Catalina of Calgary and grand nephew Abelardo Jr. of New York, niece Evelyn of New Jersey, grand nephew Tony Jr. of New York, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family relatives and friends in both Canada and the Philippines. The family would like to thank all the staff of Seven Oaks General Hospital for their care, and also a heartfelt thank you to Mom's home care providers. Lamay will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2008 from 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street with prayers being said at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 26, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home with interment to follow.
