Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGEORGE GERALD TOMAN It is with great sadness that our family announces the death of George Toman on Sunday, September 21, 2008 at Desert Hot Springs, CA. He is survived by his beloved wife Thelma of Desert Hot Springs, CA, children Jeffrey (Dee), Maureen (Craig), Tracy (Bill) and their mother Beverley; seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter at Everett, WA, and his sister Susan Redding at Winnipeg, MB. He was predeceased by his parents. George was born in Esterhazy, SK and moved to Winnipeg as an infant. He played for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in his earlier years. He moved to Sudbury, ON and became a hockey official and his next move was to Los Angeles, CA where he continued to officiate. He was an auto insurance adjuster and on retirement, moved to Desert Hot Springs, where he spent many days watching football and hockey and keeping track of all CFL games. George we will miss your stories and jokes but our memories will be forever. Cremation has taken place and at George's request, his ashes will be scattered over Puget Sound, WA were he spent many days fishing with his son-in-law Craig.
