Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBARRY KRUGER Peacefully on Monday, September 22, 2008 after a brief battle with cancer, Barry Kruger passed away. Barry was born August 22, 1949. He was the eldest son of Eric and Margaret Kruger. Barry grew up in Elmwood where he spent most of his childhood, moving to St. Vital as an adult. Barry was employed with CN since April of 1969, still being employed there at the time of his death. He is survived by his wife Kathy; his son Colin; daughter Christina; brother Kerry (Janet) and their children Curtis, and Jessica; his mother Margaret; mother-in-law Mary Harder; sisters-in-law Gloria (Patrick) Gunter, Debbie (Jim) Smith, several cousins and two aunts. He was predeceased by his father Eric in 2004. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 27 at 11:00 a.m. at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Teulon. A private interment to follow at Erinview Cemetery. Special thanks to the staff and paramedics at Teulon Hospital. The family would also like to thank the staff at HSC GH6 for making Barry's last days as comfortable as possible. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society, 10-120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 4G2, or Golden Links Nursing Home, 2280 St., Mary's Rd., Winnipeg, R2N 3Z6. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Teulon in care of arrangements.

It is sad news indeed to hear of Barry's passing. Barry, my old Heavy Gang chum. I'm remembering you in happier times, though they were tough times for us railwaymen back when we worked together (1985-1991). Those of us who knew you, remember you as a person who could most certainly be passionate about things that mattered to you, but was an easy-going person by nature. You obviously could quietly make an impression on people because I haven't worked at CN for over 13 years, and I still remember you . You will be missed. Barry We only knew each other for a short time but I enjoyed working with you .You made me feel welcome after the move from British Columbia to the Winnipeg shop .One job I remember was the Exhaust Manifold traps we spent the full shift on . They were clean that night ,weeks later for the first time in 25 years the stores had 4 new sets in stock.God Bless You and your Family.
