DOROTHY ANN FINKELSTEIN (nee WILDER) Dorothy died gently in her sleep on September 24, 2008 her memory will be a blessing. Dorothy was born in Winnipeg, daughter of Joseph and Hattie, sister to Marshall (Phyllis) Wilder and Phyllis (Sandy) Brody, wife to Neil, mother of Ben (Michelle) and grandmother to Noah, Micah and Isaiah. Dorothy lived lightly on the Earth, finding joy in people and experiences: summers at Gimli and Regina Beach, skiing in the Laurentians, volunteering for the Jewish community, swimming in her pool, creating a warm space in her home for friends, Roughrider fans and tree planters and visiting her three grandchildren. Dorothy excelled in her chosen profession of pharmacy, which took her to Montreal, Winnipeg, Regina and rural Manitoba. In her life, she embodied modesty, resilience, generosity and good humor. We are grateful for the wonderful care that she received from the staff at the Misericordia and the Sharon Home and for the loving kindness that she received from friends and family in her final year, with a special thank you to her niece, Lesley Wilder, for her loyal visits and to Roberta Hurtig and her family, for being much more than favourite cousins.
