KEITH BURTON May 20, 1927 - September 26, 2008 It is with deep sadness that we announce that after a brief battle with cancer, Keith passed away on Friday, September 26 at the Teulon Hunter Memorial Hospital with his family by his side. Keith was 81 years old. Keith is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Anne; son Gary (Della); darling daughter Karen; son Bruce; and grandchildren, Tanner and Trent. Keith was predeceased by his parents, Theodore and Elizabeth; his brother Calvin and sister Jean. Keith was born May 20, 1927 in Kelwood, Manitoba and spent his early years in the Kelwood and Eden area. In October 1934, when Keith was 7 years old, his family moved to a farm near Balmoral, Manitoba where he lived until his passing. He farmed with his father, eventually taking over the family farm. Pa worked on the farm his entire life. He always took great pride in his livestock and crops. Pa loved farming, gardening and the country life. He took a lot of satisfaction to having everything on the dinner table being grown on the farm. Keith loved the old threshing days, attending Austin Thresherman's Reunion every year. Keith had many fond memories of the good friends and neighbours who he worked with and lived beside. For eight years after retirement, Pa and Ma spent winter months in Palm Springs, enjoying golfing and the warm weather. Pa lived on the farm for 74 years and had many stories of rural life to share that we always enjoyed. Many thanks to Dr. Graham and Dr. Loudon and all the wonderful nurses and staff at the Teulon Hospital for their compassionate care. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Balmoral United Church in Balmoral, Manitoba. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Teulon Hunter Memorial Hospital, Teulon, Manitoba. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of arrangements.
