MYRLE INGRAM MCGREGOR Myrle Ingram McGregor, 91, peacefully entered into eternal rest on September 26, 2008 at Carman, Manitoba. Myrle was born November 27, 1916 to Walter and Sarah Rutter on their farm near Rosebank, Manitoba. After a short time of teaching school, she married Ernie McGregor on July 10, 1937 becoming a farming partner on a half section of land in the Pomeroy community. As part of their partnership, Myrle became a keen and productive gardener. In her younger years she was an avid fastball player. In her thirties she began her curling career which lasted four decades. Her team won four provincial women championships at three different age levels. Myrle quilted for many years making more than 50 hand-stitched quilts for her family and relatives. She also worked with community groups on quilts that were donated. She and Ernie travelled, often with family members, reaching all corners of North America and once to Europe. Another passion in her life was fishing. Any invitation to go fishing was answered with an immediate Let's get going . Throughout her life she enjoyed cards, board games and contests. She often organized events and contributed to community organizations with the same enthusiasm she had for her whole life. Myrle was predeceased by her husband Ernie in 2002 after 64 years of marriage; two brothers (Elmer and Gordon); two sisters (Bessie and Irene); and one grandchild and one great-grandchild both in infancy. She is survived by her children Marvyn (Ann), Noreen (John Carley), Jim (Vicky), and Perry (Bev); 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister Shirley Thompson; and sisters-in-law Joyce Rutter and Isabel Rutter. Funeral services will be held at Carman United Church on Saturday, October 4 at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Boyne Lodge, Box 1644, Carman, MB R0G 0J0. Doyle's Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
