ANNE WINTONIW (MYSKIW) 1922 - 2008 It is with great sorrow that the family of Anne Wintoniw announces her passing peacefully at the age of 86 at the Vita Personal Care Home on September 28, 2008. Anne is survived by sons Ernie (Kathy), Jarvis (Pearl); grandchildren Jennifer, Becky, Steven (Susan), Timothy, Caroline; great-grandchild Hannah; sisters Sophie Zaretski, Olga Marynowski, Mary Sopiwnyk, Jean Bilawski, Doreen Tysoski; brother Bill; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband John, parents Harry and Nellie Myskiw; brothers John and Mike; daughter Audrey and grandson Adam both in infancy. Mom was born in Zhoda on January 14, 1922. She left school at an early age to help out at home. She married her childhood sweetheart, John in 1946 and they began farming in the Zhoda area. They spent quality time together till Dad's passing in 2007, going on several trips, fishing, playing cards and visiting with friends and family. Mom passed away on September 28 and if Dad was still with us, this would have been their 62nd wedding anniversary. Mom was a hard worker, and operated the family farm while dad worked away at numerous jobs. Her pride was her garden and pristine yard, loaded with flowers, which she always loved. Mom could always be found in the kitchen preparing her abundant delicious meals. She also spent much of her time throughout the years with crocheting numerous doilies and tablecloths for family and friends. Her family was very important to her and she would enjoy the visits and would always spoil her grandchildren with special treats. They moved to Steinbach in 2003 and due to failing health moved to the Vita Personal Care Home in the fall of 2006. Viewing will be held Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at 7:00 p.m., with prayers at 7:30 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 150 Penfeld Dr., Steinbach, MB. Funeral service will be held Thursday, October 2, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel. Viewing prior to the service. Interment will be at the Zhoda Community Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Zhoda Community Cemetery. Thanks to the Health Care Staff at the Vita Personal Care Home, and to all the family and friends for their visits.
