James was predeceased by wife Anne in 2007, brothers Reg and Ed and sister Janet. He is survived by his sons, Jim (Katie) and Ken (Diane); grandchildren, Jody (Albert) Zavala, Ashley and Scott of Winnipeg and Edmonton and great-grandchildren, Tyler and Riley of Phoenix. In his younger years, James enjoyed playing sports and in his more recent years, going to the McPhillips Street Station, Assiniboine Park, trips in the country and visits from family and friends. The family would like to thank the staff at the Charleswood Care Centre for their care and compassion and especially family friend Tracy Sabanski for her kindness and patience. We'd also like to thank the staff at Seven Oaks Hospital for their efforts and especially E.R. Nurse Carl Anderson who is also family.
