Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRUSSELL MCCORRISTER September 11, 1942- September 29, 2008 On Monday, September 29, 2008, Russell passed away with his family by his side. Russell is cherished by his loving wife of 40 years and best friend, Annette; sons, Craig and Mike; stepson Brian; grandson Tyson; brothers, Edward (Agnes), Gary (Louise), Harold (Carol). Sisters, Frances (Joe), Phyllis, Geraldine (Del); sister-in-law Edith; stepbrother-in-law Fred Amos and many nieces and nephews in Winnipeg, Peguis and Saskatchewan. He was predeceased by his son Darryl; mother Bertha; father Steve; brothers, Mort and James; mother-in-law Jane K. Amos and brother-in-law Walter. Russell worked for Calgary Hydro for two years, Manitoba Hydro for 30 years, where he retired and then went on to work for Piston Ring for three years. His hobbies were working around the house, fixing things, travelling, and loved watching hockey and baseball, visiting friends at Salisbury House, especially the waitresses. He adored his sons and spent time and advising them on life in general. He was also known for having the cleanest vehicles in town. Russell spent most of his life in Transcona and St. Vital. Prayers will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Wheeler Funeral Chapel, 211 Regent Avenue West. Funeral service will follow on Friday, October 3, 2008 at 12:00 also in the Wheeler Funeral Chapel, Reverend Barry Bear officiating. Pallbearers Darren Garneau, Clint McCorrister, Kevin McCorrister, Gerald McCorrister, Jamie McCorrister and Barry Ironquill. Honorary pallbearers will be Raymond Prince, William Thomas, Clarence Sinclair, Frank Roberts and Fred Amos. Special thank you to Palliative Care at St. Boniface Hospital and CancerCare, also a special thank you to Chad Wheeler lifelong friend of the family for his love and support.
