ELVIRE AUGUSTA CLARKE On Monday, September 29, 2008 Elvire Clarke passed away at the age of 85 years at Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg. Remaining to forever cherish Elvire's memory are her daughters Rosita Clarke (Joe) and Arlette Gray; son Brian Clarke (Janice); grandchildren Aaron Brown, Loncen, Theron, Collyan and Arlin Gray, Jennifer, Sara and Jesse Clarke; and great-grandchild Avell Gray. She was predeceased by her parents; husband Stanford; sister Mary Dierickx; and grandson Fenton Brown. Elvire was born in Gent, Belgium and during the Second World War met and married Stanford and moved to Winnipeg. After a few years they relocated to their home in St. Clements to raise their family. Mom's passions of life were many which included: fishing, camping, sewing, knitting, baking, playing cards, church, choir and travel. Mom was the Matriarch of the family teaching us love, strength, faith and unity. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 3 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church, East Selkirk Manitoba, with Rev. Fr. Jerry Talarski and Rev. Fr. Carl Tarnopolski, V.G., presiding. Pallbearers will be Messrs. Loncen Gray, Theron Gray, Arlin Gray, Aaron Brown, Jesse Clarke and Tyler Turton. A private interment will take place at a later date. Special Thanks to the staff at Middlechurch Home and to the many friends that visited. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Elvire's memory to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 10 - 120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2. Mom, Nanny You will be greatly missed.
