AL SINCLAIR SPARKS Suddenly, on Monday, September 29, 2008 at Seven Oaks Hospital, Al Sinclair Sparks, beloved husband of Lillian, went to be with his Lord and Saviour. Funeral service will be held on Monday, October 6, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street with Reverend Joseph Kibwaa officiating. Viewing will take place prior to the service. Al was predeceased by his parents, Everette and Rose Sparks, as well as his brother Eric. He leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife of 54 years, Lil; daughter Twyla; son Pernell; brothers, Arnold (Maxine) and Elroy (Poppie); sisters, Winnifred (Max), Paula (George) and Irma (Rick), nieces and nephews, as well as extended family and friends. Al was a very active member of the Pilgrim Baptist Church choir and belonged to the Men's Brotherhood. He loved music, jogging, cooking, entertaining family and friends, landscaping and gardening. Al and his close friends Carl Tynes and Billy Turner loved going to Salisbury House on Main for coffee and jogging in Kildonan Park. He worked and retired at Via Rail. He was also the former Light Heavy-Weight Boxing Champion of Canada and remained active in the boxing community as a trainer and mentor. Al was inducted into the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame in 1996. In lieu of flowers, donations in Al's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba. Glen Eden Funeral Home 338-7111
