HARRY BLACHAR After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Harry passed away on October 4, 2008 at the age of 78 years. Left to treasure his memory is his wife of 56 years, Gladys; sons, Robert (Colleen), Michael (Paulette); daughters, Angie (Jim), Barbara (Glenn); numerous grandchildren and one surviving sister Christine Bittner of Balmertown, Ontario. He was predeceased by his parents, one brother and three sisters. Harry was born and raised in Gonor, MB. He moved to Winnipeg, MB for a time where he owned and operated Active Transfer and Messenger. He returned to live in Lockport in 1978, where he enjoyed the rest of his life. Harry enjoyed gardening and working in the garage. Harry and Gladys shared a strong and loving marriage and left behind strong roots for their children. At his request cremation has taken place and no formal service held. Many thanks to the nurses in the Chemo Department, the doctors, the nurses and the Palliative Care section of the Selkirk General Hospital. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba 1160 - 675 McDermot St., Winnipeg, MB. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
