Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLORETTE ALICE LAROCQUE (nee GARAND) It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Lorette Alice Larocque on Saturday, October 4, 2008 at the St. Boniface General Hospital. Mom was born on April 25, 1937 in Richer, Manitoba. Mom leaves to mourn and cherish her memory to her husband, Papa Al Wakeford; her children, Roger (Judy), Gerry (Anita), Danny (Laura), Norman (Michelle), Debbie, Andy, Marc (Natalie) and Jacquie (Jason), along with 22 grandchildren and six great-grand-children. Her four brothers, Marcel (Jeannette), Gerry (Ruby), Louis (Pat), Roger (Elaine); and sister-in-law Olive; three sisters, Julienne (Gary), Juliette and Angie (Tom), Jim Wakeford. As well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mom was predeceased by her first love André Larocque, her son Guy, her granddaughter Angel, as well as by her parents Lucien and Beatrice Garand, brother Armand, her father and mother-in-law, Jean and Alice Larocque, Almer and Lorene Wakeford. Mom had a great love for many things such as gardening, sewing, arts and crafts, playing bingo but her greatest love was going to watch her grandchildren play hockey or ringette. Her grandchildren meant the world to her, and she would always greet them with a big hug and kiss. Her love for children was evident when after raising her eight children, she embarked on a new career in childcare after the passing of our father, and after receiving her certificate, spent over 20 years working with children. Mom loved being with and watching her family, and always did everything with the greatest amount of love and pride. Mom and Papa travelled to different parts of Canada and there was always a funny story to relate after each trip. She definitely loved to laugh and love! A special thank you to all the doctors and staff of SBGH 4 and 5E for their care and compassion. A memorial service will be held in honour of Mom on Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at the Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd., Winnipeg, MB. A private family interment will follow afterwards. Flowers gratefully declined. A donation in her honour may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Fear not nor grieve at my departure, you whom I have loved so much, for my roots and yours are forever intertwined. GLEN LAWN FUNERAL HOME 982-7550

I don't really remember much of her but I think of her sometimes when I look at my sister Myla, because her middle name is Lorette. - Posted by: Maddy Larocque (Great great Grandaughter ) on: Jul 29, 2016
