ELEANOR (ELLEN) BEACHAM
Date of Passing: Mar 16, 2008
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELEANOR (ELLEN) BEACHAM It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our mother, Ellen Beacham on Sunday, March 16, 2008. Mom left us to be united with her husband Harold, who served in the Second World War with the RCAF based at Downham Market, England. Mom passed away peacefully frequently surrounded in love by her son, Gordon, and daughters, Linda and Laurel. Mom had a keen interest in true stories, especially the Second World War. She was always very respectful of those who fought and contributed to the Allied cause. Mom was also supportive of the SPCA and donated presents to the homeless for their pets so they could celebrate the holiday season as well. Mom spent her final summer, fall and winter, visited by her family in the comfort of her own home. After her surgery at Victoria General, she returned home during the late summer and was able to build her strength by walking the beautiful Broadmead area almost daily. Mom also enjoyed her final outdoor visits with her granddaughter, Emily, often braving the cool weather with a warm smile as she watched little Emily laugh with delight hand feeding the bunnies at the University of Victoria and Mallard ducks at Lohbrunner park. Thank you to Dr. E. J. McMurtrie and the chemotherapy unit at the Royal Jubilee Hospital for giving her a few extra months of life at a reasonably normal level and allowing the family to prepare. Also, many thanks to all the staff at Home Care Nursing and Hospice, but especially to Robin for her patience, understanding, care and compassion. Mom, we will miss your keen awareness of global politics, interest in sporting events, your outstanding baking and Christmas cake, and other wonderful meals. Your family and granddaughter will miss you very much, and your favourite puppy, Obiwan, will always remember you for your special treats. Thank you for everything in life Mom. We love you.
