ISABEL HELEN RINN Isabel Helen Rinn (Pittendreigh), wife of Neil Livingston Rinn passed away peacefully on October 5, 2008 at Brandon Regional Health Centre. Isabel was born May 30, 1922 in County Aberdeen, Scotland to Andrew and Christina Pittendreigh (Ironside). She immigrated with her family to Canada as a young girl and they settled in the Rapid City area. She attended school there, and then went on to train as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse at the Brandon Mental Hospital, graduating in 1943. She lived in Toronto for some time, and then settled in Stonewall, Manitoba where she met and married Neil. Isabel was a very active volunteer in the Association for Community Living, Interlake Branch, and a Lifetime member of the Association for Community Living Manitoba Division. She received the Premier's Volunteer Service Award in 1996. Isabel is survived by her husband of 48 years, Neil Rinn, her step-son Jim, daughter Kristy Tufts (Leonard), and son Kelly; grandchildren James Rinn (Amber), Trevor Rinn (Amrit Malik), Warren Rinn (Christine McBride), Kira and Lane Tufts and great grandchildren Maya and Charlie Rinn. She is also survived by sisters Nan Gurr, Nora Loepkky, Kathy Johnston and brother Don Pittendreigh. She was predeceased by her parents and sister Daisy. Funeral service will be held on Friday, October 10 at 2:00 p.m. at the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, 433 Main St., Stonewall, Manitoba. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Association for Community Living, Interlake Branch, Box 1222, Stonewall, Manitoba. R0C 2Z0.
