Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT EDWARD (ED) MCCONOMY Peacefully on October 6, 2008, Ed passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital, with family by his side. Ed is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marjorie; children, Paul (Robin), Bob (Brenda), John (Hayley), David (Tammy) and Jane (Jeff) Hunt; sister Francis (Pat) Smith; grandchildren, Kelly Ziegner, Daniel, Paul, Michelle, Sean, Sharon, Jade, Mallory, Georgia and Jackson Saunders-McConomy and Jessica Hunt; great-grandchildren, Leta Ziegner and Logan McConomy. Ed was predeceased by parents Thomas and Eva; siblings, Thomas, James, Michael and John; and grandson Jason. Ed was born on April 26, 1929 in Quebec City and grew up in Brockville, Ontario. Ed worked for 40 years, retiring in 1988, at Phillips Cables and moved from Brockville, to Toronto, to Montreal before settling in Winnipeg. Ed was a founder and valued member of the Charleswood Seniors Centre and an active member of the Westwood Presbyterian Church. Ed loved to travel with Marjorie, and cherished every moment of their life adventure. Ed's love of life was built and supported by his family, his friends and his love of sports. Ed tirelessly helped and encouraged those around him to achieve their very best. He left a lasting impression on all he met. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Charleswood Seniors Centre, 450 Laxdal Rd., Winnipeg, MB R3R 0G7 or the St. Boniface Palliative Care, 409 Tache Ave., Winnipeg, MB R2H 2A6. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 10, 2008 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., with reception to follow. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
