LAURINE WILEY Our beloved mother passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2008 at the Poseidon Care Centre in Winnipeg. Mom is survived by two daughters, Gail (Paul) Bilinsky of Flin Flon and Dawn Wiley of Winnipeg; one grandson Jason Bilinsky (Tracy Brooks); two great-grandchildren, Holly and Liam Bilinsky all of Edmonton, AB; nephew Terry (Leanne) Bowe and family of Winnipeg as well as other nieces, nephews and relatives. Mom was predeceased by her husband Lloyd (2001); her parents, Thomas and Florence Bowe; her only brother Mervin Bowe, also predeceased by brothers-in-law, Clarence Wiley and Ron McPhail; sisters-in-law, Ella Bowe and Eileen Wiley. Our mother was born on the family farm near Birnie, MB on April 21, 1923. Mom grew up on the farm and went to the Birnie School. She completed her high school in Eden, MB, she then went to Winnipeg in 1941 to attend the Dominion Business College (now Success Business College) to take a stenographer's course. Mom graduated from college in 1943 and got her first job working in the offices at the Neepawa Salt Plant. After working there for a few years she took an office job in the Neepawa Co-op Store. She met her future husband Lloyd Wiley in Neepawa. They were married in Brandon in 1949. Mom lived in various Manitoba towns throughout her married life because of our father's Manitoba Hydro job, finally settling in Winnipeg in 1969. Mom has resided at the Poseidon Care Centre for the past two years. In her younger years she was in the Lion's and Purple Ladies Club, she was also active in the United Church, taught 4-H and C.G.I.T. Also, Mom worked in the St. Anthony's Hospital Offices in The Pas and at Eaton's in Winnipeg. Mom the happiest when she was having a cup of tea with friends and relatives. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, October 7, 2008. Interment at the Riverside Cemetery in Neepawa, MB. The family wishes to thank all the nurses and all other staff on the 4th Floor, Poseidon Care Centre for the care and kindness they gave to our mother.
