DOROTHY EVELYN JOHNSON (GREEN) April 5, 1915 - October 7, 2008 Peacefully on Tuesday, October 7, 2008 with her family by her side, Dorothy passed away at Middlechurch Home. Dorothy will be lovingly remembered by her children, Carol Claydon, Sandra Johnson (Ted Davies), Marion Patterson (Michael), Catherine Dickie (David), Barbara Keith (Wilf), Judith Wantzing (Coby), Bill Johnson and Gordon Johnson, 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Surviving siblings are Margaret Morran and Gerald Green (Lois), as well many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her former husband, Carl Herbert Johnson and special friend, Lennart Lindgren, a daughter, Dorothy Anne and an infant son. Dorothy was born in Wawanesa and raised in Grandview. She trained as a Psychiatric Nurse at Selkirk Mental Hospital. She retired from the Manitoba Home for Girls, was a member of Kildonan United Church and the UCW, was very active in the Home and School Association, and was a member of Lodge Strindberg, VOA. She enjoyed curling and lawn bowling and especially her many grandchildren and her beautiful garden. Dorothy will be remembered as a kind and loving mother, friend and neighbour. A celebration of Dorothy's life will be held on Friday, October 10, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street. The family would like to thank the staff of Middlechurch Home for their wonderful care. Flowers gratefully declined.
