Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFRED ANDRUSHUK On Monday, October 6, 2008 at the St. Joseph's Residence, Winnipeg, MB, Fred Andrushuk, passed away at the age of 98 years. Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of the Omega Funeral Home on Saturday, October 11, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with the Deacon Michael Strilec officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery. Fred was born on September 28, 1910 son of Phillip and Pearl Andrushuk at Arness, MB where he was raised and received his education. At the age of ten the family moved to St. Claude, MB, then Rockwell and then to Haywood, where they had bought a farm. He operated the store at Belmont with his brother-in-law. He ice-fished at Delta for the winter. When he moved to Winnipeg he became a janitor, cleaning stores and government offices. Fred enjoyed playing bingo and going to the horse races, and especially enjoyed his bus trips down to the Shooting Star. His special times were spent with his family and friends. Predeceased by his parents; five brothers, John, Bill, Pete, Mike and Paul; three sisters, Mary Sorton, Anne Pongoski and Rose Nichols. Surviving is his sister Helen Halischuk of Winnipeg, and numerous nieces and nephews. Should friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the St. Joseph's Manor, 1149 Leila Ave., Winnipeg, MB. The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff at St. Joseph's Residence for the care and kindness they provided to Fred during his stay.
