JAMES BOWMAN WRIGHT 1910 - 2008 Jim's family announces with sadness his passing on October 6, 2008 at Meadowood Manor. He will be sadly missed by his son Bruce, wife Fran and their sons Brian and Robert of Vancouver, and daughter-in-law Margaret Wright of Edmonton. Jim was predeceased by his son Brian in 1969, his wife of 69 years, Thomasina in 2003, sister Betty and brothers David and Charles. To mourn his passing he leaves nieces Joanne Instance and Carole Murray and their families. Jim was a manager for Quintons Dry Cleaners for many years and later on with Stanley Brock. Jim was a kind husband, father and grandfather, who encouraged his sons in sports. In his earlier years he excelled in badminton and soccer. He was an avid golfer, making four holes-in-one. Jim and Tommie spent the winter months of their retirement years in Arizona at Fran and Bruce's home. In keeping with Jim's wishes, cremation and a private interment will take place. Flowers are gratefully declined. If friends so desire, a donation may be made to the Meadowood Manor, 575 St. Anne's Road, Winnipeg, MB R2M 5B2. Fran, Bruce and family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of both the Rosewood and Meadowood Manor for their truly exceptional care given to Jim in his final years.
