Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY JOY MACDONALD Suddenly on Monday, October 6, 2008 Mary Joy was taken from us. Left to mourn are her husband of 40 years John, daughter Jaqueline, grandson Damien Cote, granddaughter Raven Cote, son Gregory(Shannon), sisters Joy Ann McGillis(Tom), Joy Almgren(Robbie) numerous brother and sister inlaws, cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends. She was predeceased by her mother Elsie Paskiewicz, father Frank Paskiewicz and step mother Ada. Mary Joy was born December 24, 1943 and lived in Winnipeg all of her life attending Holy Ghost and Sacred Heart schools. She worked at Princess Auto, Billinkoff Lumber, The Bay drapery department, Advance Awning RBC Dominion Securities. Throughout her life she met many people and developed lifelong friendships from every phase. Mary Joy had an infectious personality that rubbed off on everyone she new. Her greatest joy was entertaining her family and friends with gourmet meals cooked to perfection and bragging about the great deals she got on the Shopping Channel. She also knew where to get the best deals in Grand Forks, Minneapolis, Phoenix and Palm Springs. Mary Joy suffered from diabetes for many years and developed heart disease in the later years of her life. Her courage, strength and belief in God helped her to beat the odds for many years. The family would like to thank St.Boniface Hospital ACF staff, nurses and especially doctors Ludwig and Drobot for their dedication to Mary Joy's well being. We would also like to thank the Winnipeg Paramedics and the doctors, nurses and staff at Victoria Hospital ICU for the care and comfort that they provided in her final hours. Memorial Service will be held at Mosaic Funeral Chapel, 1839 Inkster Blvd., on Friday, October 10, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Father Gerry Ward presiding. Reception will follow at the Mosaic Reception Centre. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
