Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDONNA JEAN COURCHENE (CHIKOWSKI) On Monday, October 6, 2008 at the Grey Nun's Community Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta, Donna Courchene passed away at the age of 58 years. Surrounded by her family, peacefully following a lengthy illness Donna passed away. Donna leaves to mourn her mother Dora Courchene, her husband Brian and her children Tracy (Larry), Shawn, Kirsten (Pride), Craig Shawn, her grandchildren Shawna, Kelsey, Larry Jr., Shawn Paul, Stealth, Seth, great grandchildren Kenneth and another one due in February 2009. She was the eldest sister of Shirley (Gerald), Joyce Pepin, Audrey (David) Valerie (Guy), Velma (Brain), Theresa (Wayne), Penny (Allan) and her very special sisters Helen Bruyere and Barbara Girard. She is also survived by her stepfather Guy Lafrance aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her father Alphonse Courchene, her daughter-in-law Celina and infant brothers Joseph and Randy and her special sister Theresa Walstrom, nephew Guy J. Pereux and niece Shawna Henderson, grandparents Joseph and Annie Courchene and Alfred and Nancy Swampy. In tears we saw you sinking, we watched you day by day, our hearts were almost broken, you fought so hard to stay: But when we saw you sleeping, So peaceful, free from pain, We could not wish you back, To suffer that again. Wake services commencing Thursday, October 9, 2008 in Fort Alexander at Velma and Brian Fontaine's residence on the North Shore at house 328 A. Funeral to be held on Monday, October 13, 2008 at the St. Alexander Parish Church in Fort Alexander, Manitoba at 12:30 p.m. Father Ekezie Malachy officiating and Father Augustine Ezediniru assisting. Burial service at the Notre Dame Du Laus Cemetery in Powerview, Manitoba. Pallbearers are Larry Guimond Jr., Ramie Fontaine, Jeremy Courchene, Jonathan Henderson, Patrick Berthelette and Terry Pepin. Honorary Pallbearers are Alphonse Henderson, Kevin Pepin, Justin Pereux, Daniel Courchene and Aaron Courchene. Flowers gratefully accepted and donations can also be made to the Children's Hospital Foundation of Manitoba. The family would like to extend their thanks to the nurses and doctors at the Grey Nun's Community Hospital for the care and kindness they provided to Donna.
