ALBERT (BERT) EDWARD BRENNAN Service of Remembrance to be held at the Knox United Church, Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. with a reception to follow It is with great sadness that the family of Albert (Bert) Edward Brennan, June 15, 1926 - October, 8, 2008, announce his passing. As a young man, Bert served in the Navy and returned to Kenora to open Brennan's Jewelers, which flourished under his ownership for 36 years. Bert enjoyed a long and healthy retirement in Florida and the West Coast as well as in Kenora. Bert was a kind and generous man who gave selflessly to his community, friends, and family. Bert was an accomplished carpenter and handyman and was always delighted in taking on new projects. Bert and his wife, Marguerite, traveled extensively and were fortunate enough to have been able to share many exciting adventures together. Bert was predeceased by his brothers Clare and Cliff, sister Frances, and brother-in-law Lorne. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marguerite (nee Chanin), daughters Bonnie (Tom) and Jill (Bill) and son Dean (Judi). Bert is also survived by his grandchildren Josh (Kelly), Chad (Valerie), Tyler, Chelsea, Erin (Chuck), Danny (Deanna), Amanda, Sean, and Courtney and great-granddaughter Samuelle. Bert also leaves behind his brother-in-law and friend Glen (Arlene), and sister-in-law and friend Irene. A special thank you goes out to Doctors Lowen, Du Plessis, and Daly as well as the staff on the second and third floors at Lake of the Woods District Hospital for their kindness and compassion, and to Lil Kozie for her friendship. Bert is gone but will certainly not be forgotten as we will hold in memory all his kind and generous acts toward all those whose lives were fortunate enough to have crossed his path. A Service of Remembrance will be held at the Knox United Church on Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. with a reception to follow. Interment will take place at Lake of the Woods Cemetery following the reception. Online condolences may be made to www.mem.com BROWN FUNERAL HOME CREMATION CENTRE
