ANNETTE FLEURY Peacefully on Thursday, October 9, 2008 our mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away at Red River Place Personal Care Home in Selkirk, MB. Born July 1, 1913 in Lampman, SK, she later moved to St. Eustache and Marquette, MB. She is survived by one daughter Lea Beatty; two sons Percy and Dennis; two grandchildren, Kim (Jake Brown) and Susan Fleury; three great-grandchildren, Delaney, Lacy, and Clayton Brown. She was predeceased by her husband Frank in 1990; her mother Josephine, father Gedeon; brothers Joe, Jule, Emile, Leo, Hector and three sisters Clara, Bertha, Eva; son-in-law George Beatty; daughter-in-law Jo-Anne Fleury and great-grandchild Travis Brown. Mother could cook up a great meal in no time at all from scratch. She loved to listen to good country and old time music on the radio for hours on end. She was also a great dancer, piano player, loved gardening, planting beautiful flowers, raspberry picking, and canning fruits and vegetables. She was also a Home Care Worker for 3 and one half years. She was loved by all who knew her. Our dear mother was a beacon of light in all our lives. She had many great qualities, among them honesty, compassion, integrity and love. We'll miss your loving hugs, humour and kindness. Mother dear you'll be in our minds, hearts and prayers forever. The family would like to thank the home care workers Barbara and Margaret for their excellent care and kindness when mother was home. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at Red River Place for their excellent care, love and kindness to our mother. A very special thank-you to Marie for taking mother to hear the music session on Wednesday afternoons. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Roman Catholic Church of the Annunciation, Woodlands, MB. Father Rene Katcha Digba will officiate. All are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society, 10-120 Donald St. Winnipeg, R3C 4G2 or the Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, R3T 0R3. Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Hi Percy, Dennis and Lea Just reading the old obituaries in the Free Press from my computer, and thought I'd bring up Fleury. So sorry to hear of the passing of Jo-anne and Aunty Annette. It has been years and years since we've even seen each other. Lea, I think it was in 1957, and Percy you were at parents place with Jo-anne and you were expecting your 1st baby around that time. Dennis I can only remember you from back on your old farm. Time goes by fast. I'll be 72 this coming December 2010. - Posted by: Shirley Walsh (Lachance) (Family) on: May 30, 2010
