Our family regrets to announce that Doug Hamill peacefully passed away on October 11, 2008 at the age of 88 years, in WestView Health Centre, Stony Plain, Alberta with his loving wife and daughter at his side. Doug always enjoyed his professional welding career, family and friends, his cottage, and many mechanical and building projects. Born in Winnipeg in 1920, Doug grew up in the St. James community of Woodhaven. There he married the girl next door, Doris Pickup. They lived happily in the Woodhaven community for about eighty years. They raised three children Donald, Janice and Roy. They were surrounded by many friends and neighbors in the community and at their cottage at Westhawk Lake. Doug will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his friends and family, his dear wife Doris, son Donald Hamill, Janice and Ray Wotton, Roy and Lillian Hamill, his sister-in-law Jay and husband Vic Kautz, grandchildren, Tammy and Steven Wotton, and Angela and Matthew Hamill, and great-grandchildren Jessica and Mackenzie. Dad you will never be forgotten. Our love is forever with you. Funeral service will be held on Friday, October 17, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue.
