Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN E. FIELD It is with great sadness the family announces the peaceful passing of John E. Field in his 79th year on Friday, October 17, 2008. John will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 57 years, Sheila (nee Snider), and their children, Gavin (Terri Krasnowski), Sharon, Andrea, Allison (Daniel Downing) and Jennifer (Kaz Cieslar). He will also be missed by his two grandchildren, Jesse and Samantha Downing. John is also survived by his twin sister, Barby (Dave) Rempel and family of Victoria, B.C. along with lifelong friends, Gerald and Jessie Rowntree of Brockville, Ontario. Born on May 30, 1929 in Montreal, John and Sheila moved to Winnipeg in 1959. John began his career with Toronto Elevators (subsequently Maple Leaf Mills) in Montreal and Winnipeg, followed by 29 years as a Grain Trader with Parrish & Heimbecker, Limited and was Chairman of the Winnipeg Commodity Exchange in 1983. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 24, 2008 at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens, 455 Lagimodiere Boulevard. In lieu of flowers, a donation to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
