Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryERWIN NACHTIGALL December 20, 1926 – October 19, 2008 “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” II Timothy 4:7 Our dear Opa has been called home to be with his Lord. Survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Therese; their children Jerry, Almuth (Brian) Giesbrecht, Rynie (Wendy), Harold (Audra); and his grandchildren Kaitlynn & Jennifer and their mother Ella, Heather & Joel, Sydney, and Jade, Tanja & Natasha; and his siblings Irmgard (George) Ulrich, Gerda Woltmann, Hartmut (Helga) and Gisela (Winny) Zukowski; and his brother-in-law Arthur Schulz; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Erwin was born in Seemen, Germany and immigrated to Canada in 1953, where he met and married Therese in 1955. He was employed at Independent Jewellers for 18 years after which he enjoyed a successful career as a realtor until his retirement. Two of Opa’s greatest joys were to be surrounded by his beloved family and serving his precious Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. He devoted himself to studying and teaching God’s Word and his heart’s desire was that he and his family live a life that honours God. With deepest gratitude, we thank the doctors and staff at St. Boniface Palliative Care and Grace Hospice for their loving care of Opa and the wonderful support they provided Oma and our family. We’re so grateful for the love that was expressed toward us through dedicated visits and the continual prayer for strength that kept us going through this most difficult time. Funeral service will be held on Friday, October 24, 2008 at 12:30 p.m. at McDermot Avenue Baptist Church, 821 McDermot Avenue with viewing one hour prior to the service. Interment in Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations gratefully accepted to the Christian Blind Mission, 3844 Stouffville Road, P.O.
