She wed Gilles on July 3, 1965 and with their three children raised livestock and farmed land in St. Malo, Aubigny and Morris. She was a dedicated wife and mother who immersed herself in every aspect of her children’s lives. Hilda was on cloud nine with the arrival of her grandkids and delighted in indulging their every little whim. Hilda enjoyed family events, particularly the Connelly picnics on the homestead in St. Laurent. She enjoyed travelling and fulfilled a lifelong dream last year with a trip to Arranmore in Ireland, the birthplace of her father. The family would like to thank Dr. Ted St. Godard and nursing staff of the Palliative Care ward at St. Boniface General Hospital for ensuring Mom’s comfort in her final days; and is eternally grateful to Chalet Malouin staff for providing such great care of Mom these past years. Funeral services will be celebrated at the St. Malo Catholic Church on Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at 2:00 p.m., with viewing at 1:30 p.m. The interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
