Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKATHLEEN HAZEL COUSINS September 17, 1941 - October 24, 2008 The family wishes to announce the passing of their wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, Kathleen at Oakview Place Personal Care Home after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's disease. Kathy met her husband Terry in 1960 and they were married in 1963. They moved to Transcona on January 1, 1964 where they raised two children Wendy (Sean) and Cynthia (Cindy) (Don). Both Kathy and Terry were blessed with four grandchildren: Chantel, Meaghan Kathleen, and Carlene and Dustin. Kathy loved to be with friends, family and enjoyed a good laugh at every chance. She also loved her trips to visit her sister Deborah Collis in Calgary. She lived a happy life to the end. Even in the later stages of her illness we could get her to smile and laugh. Kathy had her 35-year pin as a Rebekah in Confidence Lodge #40. She loved lodge, and was very active up until her illness made it impossible for her to continue. Kathy loved sports both actively and watching the girls play ringette and softball and other sports they were involved in. She will be fondly remembered as the "#1 Chaperone" and Manager. She played ball and curled herself as long as she could. Kathy made many dear friends along her path of life. A celebration of Kathy's life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 30, Transcona Memorial United Church, 204 Yale Avenue West, with Rev Carol Fletcher officiating. The family would like to thank the staff at Oakview Place on Ness for the wonderful care Kathy received during her four years there. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Kathy to the Alzheimer’s Society of Manitoba or to the charity of one's choice. Glen Lawn Funeral Home 982-7550
