FRANK ULOYSIUS MARQUETTE February 18, 1918 – October 26, 2008 Peacefully on October 26, 2008, Frank was called home to be with his Lord. He is survived by his children Alex (Ronnie) Carriere, Mary (Frank), Joe (Joyce), Gus (Betty) and Yvonne; his siblings Mary Dupas, Bill Chatel (Lois) and Raymond Chatel (Laurie); many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Born in St. Boniface Hospital, he resided in Woodridge, Manitoba where he married Yvonne Carriere (predeceased). Later he married Leta Foshang (predeceased) and resided in Piney, Manitoba. Frank’s diversity in job interests lead him to Departments of Forestry and Hydro and also the lumber industry. His hobbies were doing carpentry work for friends and relatives and playing a very serious game of cribbage. He gave of his time freely and would go out of his way to help anyone anyway he could. He loved to joke around and laugh and his sense of humour stayed with him until the end. The family would like to thank the staff and residents at the Fort Garry Rotary Villa in Winnipeg, for making him feel a part of “one big family” during his stay there; to Riverview Palliative Care and Victoria General Hospital doctors, nurses and staff for their excellent care and compassion; and to Dr. Tse-Luk for his many years of care and concern. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 30 at 2:00 pm at Thomson “In the Park” Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd., followed by refreshments and fellowship in the Fort Garry Reception Centre. According to Frank’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private interment will be held at a later date. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations may be made to the Victoria General Hospital Foundation, 2340 Pembina Hwy., Winnipeg, MB R3T 2E8 (cheques made payable to VGH Foundation) or donate online at www.thevicfoundation.ca.
