BEATRICE LILLIAN KOPECKY Passed away peacefully, on Friday, October 24, 2008 at the Gimli Community Health Center, Beatrice Kopecky, aged 65 years, formerly of Minitonas, MB. Bea is survived by her husband Jerry; mother Evelyn; son David (Sherri); grandsons Jonah and Sammy; sisters Doris Mashinter and Vera Soroka (Ian); brother Robert; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was predeceased by her father Robert Lauder; step-father Roy Kilfoyle; and brother-in-law Reg Mashinter. Bea worked as a Healthcare Aide in Long Beach, California before moving to Minitonas where she worked in the Swan Valley Hospital for 28 years. She then moved to Gimli and worked casually at the Gimli Betel Home. Thank you to Dr. Gera and the nurses at the Gimli Community Health Center. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 30 at 2:00 p.m. in the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Minitonas, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ovarian Cancer Society. Gilbart Funeral Home, Gimli in care of arrangements.
