Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTHOMAS LESLIE NICHOLSON Surrounded by his loved ones, Thomas Les Nicholson passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at the age of 81 years. Remaining to forever cherish Les' memory are his wife Mary and children, Mary-Lou (Kevin), Tom and Sheila as well as his brothers, Bill, Ron, Ken and Murray and sisters, Louise, Janette, Myrtle and Joyce. He also leaves to mourn the large Neskar clan. Les was predeceased by his parents Thomas Edward and Annie May, brother Bob and sister Evelyn. Les was born in Watrous, Saskatchewan making stops along the way in Xena and Moose Jaw. While in high school in Moose Jaw he joined the Air Cadets which eventually led him to enlist in the R.C.A.F. as an electronics technician. He served in bases across Canada and spent two tours with N.A.T.O. forces in France. He retired as a Captain (Flight Lieutenant) after 30 years. After retiring from the forces, Les worked several jobs including one as a Commissioner. He also dabbled in numerous hobbies including his computer, gardening, woodworking, wine making and listening to music to name a few. When the occasion allowed him, he would spend time at the Army, Navy and Airforce Veterans. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 31 at 1:30 p.m. in Blessed John XXIII Roman Catholic Church, 3390 Portage Avenue at Rouge Road with Rev. Msgr. Maurice Comeault, P.H. presiding. Interment will follow in the Notre Dame Parish Cemetery, Selkirk, Manitoba. The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the staff on 3E and 6E at the Deer Lodge Centre.
