Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVICTOR GORDON BESSON It is with great sadness that after a brief illness, Victor Besson, beloved husband of Violet, passed away on October 23, 2008. Victor was born in Winnipeg on April 20, 1939. He attended school in the Norwood/St. Boniface area. Victor was employed as a salesman for Sears before starting his own company, Bestway Roofing in 1970. In 1981, Vic incorporated his company to Bestway Builders (1981) Ltd. Vic started his business at home on Stuart Avenue and then ran the business from his residence in East St. Paul, MB until 2004 when Bestway moved to its new location on Springfield Road. In 1996 Vic semi-retired. He was actively involved with the East St. Paul Lions Club, the Masons, and the Shriner's Drum Bugle Corps where they won best percussion group in Grand Forks in the year 2000. In his younger years he was a bandsman in the Winnipeg Citadel Salvation Army Band. He was also a member of the reserves and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 215. Victor is survived by his wife Violet (nee Squires); children, Daniel (Chantal), Denny (Donna), Ronald, Vicki (Robert) and Victor Jr. (Megan). His grandchildren, Serena, Brandon, Shane, Sydney, Cassidy, Meadow, Dean, Jesse, Ryeland, Victor III, Alexus, Felicia, Mackadie and Hunter will remember him always and memories of Grandpa will be shared with Vicki's baby on the way. Also surviving Victor are his brothers, Clifford, Larry (Claudine) and nephews, Andre and Laurent (Yangalie). Vic was predeceased by brother Ronald in 1975, mother Ella in 1997 and father Andre in 1998. Vic had a special beloved pet cat Chip-Chip, who will miss him also. Cremation has taken place. Service to be held at the Covenant Christian Reformed Church at 653 Knowles Avenue, Winnipeg at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 31, 2008, officiated by Major D. Jackson of the Salvation Army. Honorary pallbearers will be the Khartum Temple Drum Bugle Corps. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. Special thanks to Dr. Rush and Mary-Beth from the Health Sciences Centre Renal Clinic, Dr. Chowdbury and Linda from the CancerCare Clinic and the nurses at St. Boniface Palliative Care Ward.
