PETER WIEBE -
Born: Dec 16, 1914
Date of Passing: Oct 28, 2008
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPETER WIEBE 1914 - 2008 Peacefully, on October 28, 2008, after a 22 year separation, Peter has been reunited in heaven with the love of his life, Margaret. Peter was born on December 16, 1914 in the town of Neuendorf in the Ukraine and immigrated to Canada with his beloved wife Margaret and their three sons in 1948. After briefly settling in the area of Greenland, MB, Peter and Margaret were blessed with two more sons and the family then moved to North Kildonan in Winnipeg where Peter lived out the balance of his life surrounded by his family and friends. Peter's cherished memory continues to live on through the lives of his family including sons, Peter (Barbara), Jake, John (Carol), Neil, Abe (Terry) and daughter-in-law Mary. His grandchildren include Janet (Denny), Margaret, Susan (Bruce), Barbee, Debbie (Werner), Jason (Susan), Sandee (Jeff), Chris (Coral), Robert, Angela, Lisa and Kendra. Great-grandchildren including Tina, Terrilyn, Alexander, Katerina, Ryan, Stephen, Brad and great-great-grandson Gavin. Peter is survived by his sister-in-law Tina and his many nieces and nephews. Peter enjoyed and took great pride in his home and garden and could be found many hours of the day tending to his tomatoes. He loved to visit on the patio with his family and friends and tell stories about his days as a Police Officer and Fireman in Russia. Later in his life, one of Peter's childhood interests resurfaced when he was given a dog. The newest member of the Wiebe family was affectionately named Bubic after a family pet he had in Russia when his boys were young. Bubic brought Peter many years of joy and companionship in his later life and was a constant source of amusement for not only Peter himself, but also for the many loved ones who would come to visit. Peter's family would like to extend their thanks to his many friends, neighbours and homecare workers who lovingly cared for him these last years making it possible for him to remain in the home that he so loved in North Kildonan. A celebration of Peter's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 3, 2008 at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street, Winnipeg, MB R4A 2A8. With gratitude, the family respectfully requests in lieu of flowers donations be made to L'Arche Winnipeg, 118 Regent Avenue East, Winnipeg, MB R2C 0C1 or to a charity of your choice.
