ELIZABETH THERESA (BETTY) JOWETT Peacefully on October 28, 2008, Elizabeth (Betty) passed away with her family by her side at Bethania Personal Care Home at the age of 85. Betty will be sadly missed by her son William (Dianne), Winnipeg, daughter Deborah Nicholas (Michael), Halifax; grandchildren Corey (Portage La Prairie), Jodi Jowett-Funes (Martin), Lorette, Ron (Helen), Winnipeg, Jamie (Erin) Nicholas, Halifax, Keri (Stephen) Newman, Halifax; great-grandchildren Connor and Cassidy, Portage La Prairie, Nolan and Noah Funes, Lorette, Morgan, Winnipeg, Dylen and Kennedi Newman, Halifax; and her brother William (Joyce) Hussen of Vancouver, BC. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. Betty was predeceased by her loving husband William and sister Isabel Burrows. Betty was born and raised in Winnipeg, and met the love of her life William and married on July 1, 1944. As a military wife she travelled to many locations throughout Canada. Between travelling and having children, she also worked as a sales clerk for many years with Zellers in Edmonton, Kingston and Halifax until her retirement in Winnipeg from the Henderson Highway Zellers Store. A special thanks to the staff of Bethania Personal Care Home for their loving care of Betty. Memorial Service will be held Friday, October 31, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. at Klassen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Bethania Personal Care Home or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba.
