Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWARDA LAMBLIN January 5, 1911 - October 11, 2008 After a long and wonderful life, Warda passed away at the age of 97. Warda was predeceased by her husband, John in 1985, granddaughter Devon in 2002, brothers Norm Duxbury, Morley Duxbury, sisters Doris Blackhall, Marion Kenney, and parents Dr. James and Jean Duxbury. Warda is survived by her sons Art (Merilee) and John (Elaine), grandson Dave (Lisa), granddaughter Donna (Clint) Whitney, and great-grandchildren Michelle, Evan and Emma Lamblin. She is also survived by her foster son Gord Cardinal, sisters-in-law Alice Duxbury, Rita Lamblin, Rose Perry, and brother-in-law Gordon Perry, plus many nieces and nephews. Her memory will live on in the hearts of many friends. Warda's childhood in Killarney was spent learning to be a pianist and violinist where she played in the school orchestra. She met so many dear friends acting in school plays and church functions. In her final months, she recalled these stories commenting on how many friends she had made over the years. Warda's short career as a teacher gave her precious memories from her employment at Kirkella and Lundar where she increased her list of life-long friends. In 1943, Warda married John Lamblin. They enjoyed their house on Worthington surrounded by wonderful neighbours. Two of the closest and dearest neighbours were family members. The community provided a safe environment for her kids to grow. Warda remodelled the kitchen, and added a screened porch after John died in 1985 and continued to enjoy her house until 2006 when she moved to Thorvaldson's Care Home. Warda and John were involved in scouting and charitable organizations. The family greenhouse business was a hub of activity in the spring, and became more of a gathering place for neighbours, family and friends than a business. Our kitchen was always brewing coffee for the latest visitors. We were blessed to have a stay-at-home mom whose first priority was her sons and later their families. Our family would like to thank all of you who were close to Warda. She cherished each and every one of you. Our personal thanks go out to the staff and owners at Thorvaldson's Care Home for their loving care of Warda and to the dedicated and comforting staff at the Misericordia Nursing Home in her final months. At Warda's request, no funeral will be held, but a family interment will take place at a later date. Flowers are gratefully declined. If you wish to donate to either St. Amant Foundation, 440 River Rd., Winnipeg, MB R2M 3Z9 or Compassionate Friends, 685 William Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0Z2, it would be appreciated.
