Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCHRISTENA RUTH MCDONALD Ruth McDonald passed away peacefully on October 28, 2008 at the Lions Prairie Manor in Portage La Prairie, MB where she had lived for the past six months. She was born in Ninette, MB in 1922 and at the age of 20 she moved to Winnipeg where she attended Business college and worked until 1950. At a very young age she made her choice to serve the Lord and was true to that choice all her days. In 1950 she committed her life to gospel missionary work and spent the next eleven years in Manitoba. In 1961 she went to Chile, South America where she continued to share the gospel message for the next 43 years. In 2004 she was no longer able to continue because of failing health and she returned to Canada. She was predeceased by her parents, Alex and Lena MacDonald, an older sister, Jessie, and a younger sister and brother-in-law, Agnes and Boyd Cline. She is survived and will be lovingly remembered by her brother John and his wife Arlene and their children Marilyn (Mark), Sandy, Kerry (Gail), and Dale (Jacquie). Also her niece Brenda (Dennis) Wilson, nephew Ian (Bonnie) Cline, nephew Lew Cline, several great-nieces and great-nephews, and a vast number of fellow labourer and friends in Canada and South America. Funeral services will be held on November 4 at 10:00 a.m. at the William Glesby Centre, 11 - 2nd St. NE, Portage La Prairie, MB with interment to follow in the family plot at the Ninette Cemetery, Ninette, MB. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation for the kind and compassionate care Ruth received from the nurses and staff at Lions Prairie Manor.
