In his spare time he drove taxi for Moores. He was a member of The Native Sons/Fils Natifs, sat on parent council, enjoyed 10 pin bowling, volunteered at a few bingo halls in the St. Boniface area, and enjoyed cottage life in St. Malo for a few years.
