Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALEXANDER ROBERT HUNTER Suddenly, but peacefully, our dear father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away on October 21, 2008 at the Grace Hospital, Winnipeg, at the age of 89. Predeceased in March, 2006, by his beloved wife Dorothy, Alex is survived by his loving sons, Bob (Diane), Allen (Janice), all of Winnipeg; Ross (Donna) of St. Albert, AB; grandchildren Jason (Angie Johnston), Chris, Jodie Trenaman (Kyle), Courtney Herlick (Mike) and Kelly; great-grandchildren Alex, Brayden and Ansley Johnston-Hunter, and Kaiden Trenaman. He also leaves behind his sisters Avis Cassells and Elsie Rogers (Paul), brothers Gordon (Joanne) and Bill and other extended family members. Alex was born August 21, 1919 in Foxwarren and raised in Strathclair, Manitoba. As a young adult, he joined the Royal Canadian Army and proudly served his country during the Second World War. While on a tour of duty in England, he met Dot and they married July 15, 1943. After the war, they took up residence in Strathclair and began to raise their sons. In 1955, Alex and Dot moved their young family to Winnipeg where Alex worked in the automotive industry until his retirement from Birchwood Pontiac in 1985. He spent his latter retirement years nursing Dot when her health declined and they were able to celebrate 62 years of marriage together. In keeping with Alex’s wishes, a private interment has taken place. Alex’s family finds peace and comfort knowing Dad and Mum are together forever. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
