LILLIAN ROSE BUGERA (nee ANDREYCHUK) Lillian passed away peacefully, at 69 years of age, with her family at her side on November 1st at the Vita Hospital after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Remaining to forever cherish her memory is her loving husband of 32 years, Joseph; sons Michael Hrechka (Melodie), Robert Hrechka (Carol), Gerald Hrechka (Debbie), Gordon Hrechka (Rhonda); daughters Marlene Willems (Paul), Christina Boswell (Kerry) and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters: Lorraine Marynowski, Joyce Budzey (Fred), Sylvia Fidelak (John), Beatrice Dykun (Orest) and many nieces and nephews. Lillian was predeceased by her parents William and Annie Andreychuk and her sister Elizabeth Zelinski. Lillian was born and raised in Caliento. At the age of 16, she married and moved to Arbakka, where she raised six children on the farm. She was a terrific cook and took great pride in making everything from scratch - always adding a few mysterious ingredients. Lillian had a love for gardening and won many horticultural awards. She enjoyed various crafts including sewing and painting and bingo was also a favourite activity for her on Thursday nights. Through the years, she enjoyed hunting and ice fishing with Joe. There was always a great deal of excitement in the house during hunting season. Her children and grandchildren visited the farm often and she always kept a watchful eye on her family. Lillian also enjoyed the company of many wonderful friends and neighbours. The family would like to thank the caring staff of Vita Hospital and the Emergency Ward at the Health Sciences Centre for helping her family in this difficult time. A service will be held at the Vita Funeral Home on Thursday, November 6, at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba.
