WINONA ADAMS (SMITH) Peacefully on October 31, 2008 at 81 years young, following a brief illness, Winona Adams (Smith), loving wife of Bob Adams. She will be sadly missed by sons, Gordon (Michele) of Toronto, Glen of Winnipeg, Grant of Stonewall and her grandson Stuart of Stonewall. Predeceased by her son Graham in 1951; her first husband of 47 years, Jim (James) Smith in 1997 and her daughter-in-law Elaine Lucille Smith (Grant) in 2001. Winona loved music and singing and was a dedicated member of Sweet Adelines for over 45 years. She will be missed by her many friends in the quartet and chorus. Winona touched the lives of many of the teachers and students at Lincoln School during the years that she worked there as the school's secretary. She will be remembered as a wonderfully outgoing, optimistic lady who only saw the good in people, never had a harsh word to say and always had a song to sing. The family would like to thank the staff at Victoria Hospital who cared for Winona during her illness. Services will be held at Winona's residence, Delta Manor, 100 Adamar Rd. in the recreation room at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 30. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba.
