BILL SCHRODER Moved on to Glory November 3, 2008 William Fredrick Schroder was born on January 8, 1926, of German descent, in Osler, Saskatchewan. His family homesteaded in Tisdale and finally in Mistatim. He joined the army as soon as he could, and served his country at home. He courted and married Laurie in Winnipeg in 1952 and within 14 years they had their dream sized family of six - four girls and two boys. He entered the family of God in 1956, and served his LORD faithfully for 52 years. He became a meteorologist and transferred to Regina where their family was raised in Hillsdale Baptist Church. They moved to Winnipeg in 1979 where they became an integral part of First Alliance Church. In 1999, they left their many, many friends in Winnipeg to move to Georgetown to be close to three of their daughters. Another wonderful family of Christian friends encircled them here in Georgetown. Grandaddy loved berry picking and playing board games with his family. Bill is survived by his loving wife Laurie; his daughters, Kim, Leslie, Patti and Robin and his son Tim. One son, Danny Boy, preceded him to Heaven in 1972. Bill and Laurie have seven grandsons, Ken, Tim, Dan, Michael, Rylan, Cory and Jesse and seven granddaughters, Suesie, Katie, Madie, Joanna, Jessica, Emily and Sophia, and one great-grandson Loghan. Bill has gone to be with his LORD and Saviour and awaits a full family reunion in God's time. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, November 5 at 7:30 p.m. at the Georgetown Alliance Church.
