GERALDINE (GERRY) ELIZABETH ANNE SIWICKI (nee GIBSON) After a courageous battle with cancer, it is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Gerry. Gerry came into this world prematurely on August 19, 1951 and left this world prematurely on November 3, 2008 at the Stonewall Hospital. Left to cherish Gerry's memory is her loving husband of 36 years, Ed; sons, David and Michael (Danielle); grandchildren, Jessica, Alexis, Dion, Dustin and Madison; father John Gibson; sisters, Doreen (George) Szor, Donna (Ken) Simm; brother Richard (Marylyn) Gibson: mother-in-law Anne Siwicki; sisters-in-law, Jenny (Dennis) Homeniuk, Liz (Larry) Drebniski, Caroline (Don) Kjear, Bernice (Harvey) Poetker; stepsister Diane (Dennis) Dreikluft, plus numerous nieces and nephews. Gerry was predeceased by her mother Ilona Gibson, father-in-law Jack Siwicki, brother-in-law Russell and stepmother Marion. Gerry was born in Winnipeg and grew up in Charleswood, she had still kept in touch with many of her childhood friends especially Edie. Gerry and Ed had made their summer cottage in St. Laurent their permanent home, where she made many friends. Gerry loved having family and friends gathering at her place and the boys looked forward to her Sunday dinners. Gerry loved her bingo and volunteering at various activities in St. Laurent especially Metis Days. A special thanks to Sandy and Lupa for taking Gerry to her CancerCare and doctor appointments in Winnipeg, and for being there when she needed you. Thanks to CancerCare and to the Interlake homecare workers and nurses. Also a special thanks to the doctors and wonderful nurses at Stonewall Hospital, for the dignity and compassion you gave to her and her family, you made this difficult time a little easier for us. We would like to thank all the family and friends for your comforting visits during her illness. Cremation has taken place and a service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2008 at the St. Laurent Rec. Centre, corner of Hwy. 6 and Veterans Road in St. Laurent.
