ROBERT MACOOMB Robert Macoomb passed away suddenly at the age of 66 years. He will be dearly missed by his wife Terri Poitras. Bob was born in Winnipeg on May 11, 1942. Growing up in the west end he always had a love for flying and aircrafts. As a young adult, Bob realized his childhood dream by becoming a pilot. His experience in commercial flying gave way to a position as an aviation inspector with the Department of Transportation, from which he retired in 2002. Bob also loved his 1976 Corvette. Years ago son David and daughter Susan enjoyed Robert's visits. David especially remembers Uncle Bob taking him for a ride in his new Corvette. Uncle Bob's warmth and ready wit stand out in Susan's memory. The last time Sheila and Richard were with Terri and Bob we shared a most pleasant lunch together. With coffee and dessert imminent, Bob was still savoring his main course and he apologized for being a "slow eater." We chuckled because his reputation for enjoying his food was well known. Uncle Bob, you have departed too soon. Sleep warm. - Posted by: Sheila & Richard McElwain (Family) on: Nov 06, 2008
