Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryETHEL THERESA COOK (nee ROBINSON) September 1, 1948 November 3, 2008 On November 3, 2008, after a lengthy battle with cancer, Ethel Theresa Cook (nee Robinson) aged 60 years of Grand Rapids, MB passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family and friends. Ethel was born in Norway House, MB on September 1, 1948, where she spent most of her childhood before moving to Grand Rapids, MB. She leaves to mourn her loving husband of 32 years George Cook; her six children Janet, Barbie (George Jr.), Roderick Sonny (Carmen), Marjorie, Michelle (Victor), Christie (Terrence); grandchildren Autumn, Emeril, Charlie, Taylor, Trayli, Ferris, Dora, Cain, Hayley, Tory, Rodney, Mackenzie, Mikayla, Carli, Ashlan, Tisean, Jae-Lyn, Carson; great- grandson Tristan; her sisters Francis Fingarson, Ann (Tony) Chartrand, Donna Robinson; brothers Donald (Melinda), Stanley (Arlene), Alex (Dora); along with her in-laws Bill, Rubena, Anne, Jessie, Ray and Florence; as well as special friends Edna Hudson and Preston McKay. She was predeceased by her parents Harriett and James Robinson; her aunt Dorothy Hart; her brothers Maurice, Raymond, Gordon and baby Leonard; her sister Eva; her in-laws Neil and Charlotte Cook, Rose Wilkins, Absolom Cook and Jonas and Victoria Cook. Mama's happiest times were when her children and grandchildren were over for holidays and special occasions or just to visit. She spent a lot of time with her grandchildren, teaching them to bake and play games. Ethel was an active fisherman and spent all of her summers with her husband and son at Eagle Island. She described these times as the best in her life, as she loved the outdoors. Ethel will be brought home to Grand Rapids on Wednesday, November 5, 2008 and taken to her residence for a few hours before being taken to the Roman Catholic Hall in Grand Rapids, MB where wake services will continue until Friday. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 7, 2008 in the Roman Catholic Hall. Interment to follow in the Roman Catholic Cemetery in Grand Rapids.
