Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPHILIP WALTER STARODUB With his family by his side, it is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dear husband, father and grandfather, Philip, on Monday, November 3, 2008 at the St. Boniface Hospital. Phil was born and raised on the family farm in East Selkirk, to parents, Michael and Mary. He spent his entire life in this community which he so dearly loved and where he both lived and raised his family. Phil worked in the drywall industry for several years before starting with Winnipeg School Division #1, in the Maintenance Department, retiring in 1992 after 26 years of service . Phil was also an active member of the St. Clements Volunteer Fire Department for 17 years. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 46 years, Helen, daughter Joanne Fieblelkorn (Craig), grandchildren, Jennifer and Daniel; son Philip (Janice), grandchildren, Jonathan, Matthew and Tiana; brother Edward (Mary); sisters Rosiland Kozlevcar, Helen Chaurun and Francis Gorgichuk (Metro). Philip was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Joe, Peter, Walter and Frank and sisters, Kaye Dube and Stephanie Hale. The family wishes to express their thanks to the staff of both Selkirk General and St. Boniface Hospitals. A celebration of Philip's life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 7, 2008 at St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church in East Selkirk with Father Jerry Talarski officiating. Interment will follow in the East Selkirk Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Philip's memory may be made to a charity of one's choice. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
